Pakistan start the Socca World Cup against opposition Spain as the European side defeated Pakistan 5-0. The inaugural International Socca Federation (ISF) 6-a-side tournament is currently underway in the Trunkwala Arena in the historic Praça do Comércio in Lisbon. The capital city will play host to 32 countries until the final on Saturday 29th September.
Shahzeb M. Trunkwala, Vice President of ISF said: “I’m feeling magnificent for the International Socca Federation. I hope in the future we can give very good news to all of our followers and all the football lovers of ISF.
This time we have 32 countries and shortly you will hear very good news that we will be having more and more countries and we will be doing this all over the world; matches, World Cups and Asia Cups.
As a family, we are very happy with the tournament, we have successfully done this and it’s all down to the team work. We are very happy to see all of this today.
The people are noticing 6-a-side football in Pakistan now and it’s a very popular game. I hope that our youngsters will follow this game.”
Pakistan Football Federation President Mr Faisal Salah Heyyad attended the event and sends his best wishes for Pakistan Team.
Mark Clattenburg, World referee and ISF Ambassador said: “This is an amazing event. The Pakistani Prime Minister is very into sport, which will help grow the sport of 6-a-side in Pakistan.
World Group Trunkwala are an amazing organisation, I’ve only been lucky enough to meet them recently. What they have done and what they bring to ISF and this tournament is massive.
The future is bright and the Trunkwala family want to push this forward and make it better. I’m sure year on year this will get better and I am delighted to be an ambassador.
